Yorkshire Folk Come Top in Charity Poll

According to ActionAid, the UK Charity who help tackle the effects of poverty, people in Yorkshire are the most generous when it comes to donating to charity.

This news comes as a result of a fundraising campaign they ran which asked individuals to donate 15 Pounds to their sponsor a child scheme. Yorkshire came out top of all countys and as such, ActionAid are now planning a regional based fundraising campaign specifically at the Yorkshire region.

Speaking about this news, Mark Burdett of NCi Charity, the UK Small Charity Insurance Brokers and Charity Liability Insurance Experts had this to say, "We deal with charities throughout the UK and we've found no obvious bias between supporters, volunteers and donors depending on location. It could be that a particular campaign might strike a chord with people in a certain region or location that impacts on the donations received from that area rather than anything else. That said, we provide charity insurance to many charities in Yorkshire and they are extremely friendly and generous people."
