With more and more small charities setting up, the Charity Commission have launched a new constitution aimed at small charities.
The constitution has been designed specifically for small charities with an annual income of below £5,000 and who do not own a building, do not employ staff and do not intend to register with the charity commission.
Further details of the small charity constitution can be found at http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/registration/smallcharity.asp and it has been produced and is being promoted by organisations including:
Speaking about the new consititution, Mark Burdett of NCi Charity, the UK's Leading Small Charity Insurance Broker had this to say, "Any help that small charities can be given when they are setting up is crucial which is what we've found when speaking to small charities about their charity insurance needs. This new Small Charity Constitution makes the process of getting organised easier than ever before and it's clear the Charity Commission and other organisations have worked extremely hard to produce this document."
“On behalf of Longbridge Youth Club, I would like to state how satisfied I am with the Contents and Liability Insurance taken out with NCi Charity.
I am in the process of starting up a series of new Youth Clubs and would not hesitate to use your services for these new projects. I intend to use your Policy as a standard in each of these Youth Clubs.”
